Welcome.
The Radogoszcz Branch is a place of special significance. During World War Two, it served as a German police prison and a site of mass repression against the inhabitants of Łódź and the surrounding region.
In January 1945, the building became the scene of one of the greatest tragedies in the city’s history — the burning alive of hundreds of prisoners whom the Germans failed to evacuate.
Today’s exhibition commemorates the victims of those events, presenting photographs, documents, eyewitness accounts, and surviving elements of the former prison.
All descriptions are available in audio form, as well as in versions adapted for seniors, people with visual impairments, and individuals with dyslexia.
